Gina and Sherman met in junior high and were always in the same circle of friends, but it wasn’t until Junior year of college where their love story started. I love how laid back and cool these two are together and apart! For their engagement photos I met them at their humble little home in downtown Ferndale. Being big foodie’s they decided they wanted to take photos at one of their favorite restaurnats in town, Cork! We enjoyed some drinks and appetizers, while taking pictures. From there we headed to some of the local little parks in the area and then ventured for a photo by the infamous “Ferndale” sign. I look forward to photographing their wedding day in February!
Brisk wind with cool temps and bright sunny skies that warm your skin describes the weather the day Natalie & Al said I do. There is something magical about the beauty and brightness of a winter wedding. Natalie is my best friends sister and I have been lucky enough to have been able to grow up watching and looking up to her as an older sister figure. I was honored to be able to document the wedding of Natalie & Al’s love story, which started so long ago. This love is a love I can relate to…the kind where a couple almost grows up together. The kind where the couple has effortlessly already devoted almost a decade to one another and now without a doubt in their mind, they make official vows to do so for the rest of their lives. The easy kind of love. This wedding was awesome because I don’t think anyone ever stopped smiling. The beautiful ceremony was held in the city, at historic St. Hyacinth Polish Roman Catholic Church. We stopped at the Detroit Institute of Arts for some portraits of the bridal party and new Mr. & Mrs. and then headed to the reception at Palazzo Grande in Shelby Township! A big thanks to Suzy Gojcaj for documenting the groom in the morning and shooting alongside me the rest of the day.
